According to an anonymous source close to the former president, towards the start of his term, Trump asked his national security staff if China had weapons that could create a storm and direct it at the US.
Telling Rolling Stone, after asking about this potential weapon -- which almost certainly doesn't exist -- he then asked his staff whether using such a weapon would be considered an act of war.
Trump has also raised the issue of hurricane guns several times, before finally stopping discussing it in 2018.
Not only Trump, it turns out that many people are curious about the storm. Instead of the secret weapon that created the storm, many netizens are curious about whether they can stop the storm with nuclear.
"During every hurricane season, someone always asks 'why don't we destroy tropical cyclones with nukes' or 'can we use nuclear weapons to destroy hurricanes?'," the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) writes on its website.
"Needless to say, this is not a great idea," he continued.
Hurricanes are centers of low pressure air, so it is theoretically possible to counteract them by increasing the air pressure. However, hurricanes are so energetic that they release the heat equivalent of a 10 megaton nuclear bomb exploding every 20 minutes, so a nuclear explosion will not lower the rating of an ongoing hurricane. Also downgrade or redirect it.

"Killing a hurricane would be as effective as trying to stop an oil tanker with a gun," Professor Paul Francis told IFL Science.
