Netflix opens high-paying flight attendant jobs. Why would an online streaming giant hire flight attendants? It turns out that they have their own aircraft assets to help the company's operations.
Netflix announced that it is looking for candidates with several desired criteria such as being able to work independently, being able to serve customers exceptionally, working with little direction and also having a lot of self-motivation.
"Salaries for this position are typically USD 60,000 - 385,000. This range is based on total compensation which is in line with our compensation philosophy," wrote Netflix. This means that candidates can be paid up to USD 385 thousand per year .
This income is considered very high even in the United States where the salaries of its citizens are already high. There, the average income of flight attendants is actually only USD 62 thousand per year.
Companies determine employees' salaries by considering factors such as their background, experience, and skills. Hired employees will work in San Jose and will be traveling domestically as well as outside the US.
Netflix says its aviation division helps Netflix reach the world more efficiently and effectively. "So that this company can continue to create joy around the world," said Netflix.
Last year Netflix said it had added 2.4 million households to its subscriber base in the three months to the end of September, reversing the decline in subscriber numbers.
In early 2022, Netflix announced its first drop in paying subscribers in more than a decade after increasing prices in several key markets. Their hit shows, including the series Stranger Things and Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, helped draw viewers back to the service.
