When you already have your own desktop or laptop computer, you will usually also start looking for computer accessories that can improve the experience of using the computer, whether for productivity or leisure purposes.
For that, Logitech, a leading brand of computer accessories, has introduced the Logitech Aurora series of computer accessories consisting of a keyboard, mouse and even headphones, all of which also come with wireless functions that help in reducing the tangle of cables on the table.
These accessories consist of Logitech G715 Aurora keyboard, Logitech G705 Aurora gaming mouse and also Logitech G735 headphones. Unlike Logitech's previous offerings, these devices come in white only, and all of them come with Lightspeed wireless technology support.
We were given the opportunity to test these three accessories to reduce cable clutter on the table. Logitech says that it is quite useful not only for gaming purposes, but also for daily productivity regardless of whether you are in the office or at home.
Logitech G715 Aurora
The Logitech G715 Aurora keyboard is a TKL or Tenkeyless keyboard that is compact in size, but still maintains important buttons such as a row of Function buttons and control buttons.
Although marketed as a gaming class keyboard, the G715 Aurora keyboard comes with an all-white design with keys with pink characters and a white frame with rounded corners and not sharp like many other gaming keyboards.
The keyboard we were sent uses their GX tactile mechanical switches but if you prefer linear switches, they have an offering for those as well.
Apart from that, this keyboard also has an audio control wheel that can be used to control the audio volume of your computer quickly and easily, and also buttons that can be used to control audio and video games next to it.
For those who love RGB lighting, the G715 Aurora keyboard comes with an RGB Lightsync lighting system that comes with 16.8 million color shades that can be changed in appearance and pattern depending on what is desired.
Using the built-in Logitech G software, users can modify settings such as the RGB Lightsync lighting system, Game Mode where users can close access to keys such as Windows and also set the keyboard settings to the memory in the keyboard, so it can be used without having to install software Logitech G on another computer.
With the model we reviewed, in my opinion the Logitech G 715 Aurora keyboard is better suited for typing than playing computer games.
For me this is because the tactile response on these keys is more comfortable when typing than when having to press buttons to perform various actions and movements in the game because the actuation point of the keys is a bit heavy for me.
In terms of wireless connection, this keyboard comes with wireless connection support using Bluetooth technology and also Logitech LIGHTSPEED. Technically, with a Bluetooth connection, this keyboard comes with a battery life of 30 hours, while with a LIGHTSPEED connection that has a higher input rate it can last for 25 hours with continuous use.
In terms of the difference in input speed between Bluetooth connection and LIGHTSPEED, I can honestly say that the difference is not very significant. In fact, the use of the LIGHTSPEED connection requires you to use an adapter for each accessory connected to the computer, and this will eat up your USB plug slot if you use more than one LIGHTSPEED device.
The Logitech G715 Aurora is offered at a price of RM799 for both models with linear and tactile switches.
Logitech G705 Aurora
The Logitech G705 Aurora gaming mouse is a unique mouse from Logitech where unlike most of their gaming mouse offerings, it comes with a smaller design than usual.
It comes with five buttons whose functions can be changed through the Logitech G software, but in default settings, it has a left-click, right-click button, a scroll wheel and also two more buttons on the side which are normally used to browse websites that were previously and after quickly and easily.
Through the Logitech G software, apart from changing the settings of the buttons on this mouse, users can also set the speed of the built-in motion sensor with DPI speed options from 100 DPI up to 8200 DPI.
Users can also choose to change the lighting pattern on the back of this mouse, and with the built-in memory of this mouse, these settings can also be saved in the mouse and can be used directly on a new computer.
As said, the G705 Aurora mouse comes with a smaller design compared to many other gaming mice. In fact, when compared to their other popular mouse, the Logitech G Pro Wireless, this mouse looks like it was built specifically for small hands.
But for me, this mouse is quite comfortable to use for daily productivity tasks as well as for gaming purposes when I play games like Final Fantasy XIV, Borderlands 3, and other FPS games.
Just like the Logitech G715 Aurora keyboard, the Logitech G705 mouse also supports wireless connectivity via Bluetooth and Logitech LIGHTSPEED.
Regardless of the connection type, these two wireless connection modes give users a lifespan of around 40 hours with the RGB lighting system installed and even longer if it is turned off.
For me, this mouse is very comfortable to use because I have relatively small hands. This, along with the sensitivity settings tweaked to my liking allowed me to move the mouse only minimally, but still be able to move icons across the display.
Our advice if you are interested in getting this mouse is to try it first and see if it suits your hand size and usage pattern.
The Logitech G705 Aurora gaming mouse is offered at a price of RM399.
Logitech G735 Aurora
Rounding out the Logitech Aurora series of devices are the Logitech G735 Aurora headphones. Just like other computer accessories, this headphone also comes with an all-white design, modernist and not so messy.
On the left side of these headphones is the power button, the audio volume wheel and also the 3.5mm plug to load the microphone on these headphones. On the right side is the Bluetooth settings button and also the button to change the audio source, where you can choose to use Bluetooth or the Lightspeed adapter depending on your wishes.
In terms of audio quality, as long as I use these headphones, the audio quality displayed in my opinion is quite good in terms of bass, treble and also high and low notes, and these headphones are suitable for watching your favorite television series and movies. .
However, one noticeable difference that I can see when using these headphones in Bluetooth and Lightspeed mode is the audio time delay from these two modes which is quite noticeable.
What I mean here is that with a Bluetooth connection, audio and video are played out of sync where the audio part is seen lagging behind the video. With the Lightspeed adapter, this audio lag issue is fixed dramatically, where I don't really notice the audio and video awkwardness when watching videos on YouTube, Netflix and so on.
In the meantime, the battery life of the Logitech G735 headphones is also quite long. With Bluetooth and Lightspeed and the RGB lights installed, these headphones can play audio for around 24-25 hours without a problem, and with the lights turned off, they can be used for over 50 hours without a problem.
The Logitech G735 Aurora gaming headset is offered at a price of RM949.
Closing
There is no denying that these three Logitech G Aurora computer accessories have a price tag of aristocracy. But with this price tag also come very useful functions such as wireless and Bluetooth connection support, long battery life and also connection to applications and the ability to update quickly and easily.
Not only that, the Logitech G software can also be used as a hub to modify various settings of these devices, from scanner sensitivity to RGB lighting and even update driver software quickly and easily.
These defined profiles can also be saved in the device and can be used on other computers without having to install the Logitech G software again.
In my opinion, if you have the money to spend on upgrading your computer's wired accessories to wireless hardware, this Logitech Aurora series of computer accessories is in my opinion one of the best productivity and gaming comfort investments I can recommend.
