Design

If you have ever held or had a vivo X200 Pro, it uses a slightly curved design on its body, but for the vivo X300 Pro it has become completely flat and boxy. I asked some of my friends, some of them prefer the curved design but I personally prefer the latest design on the vivo X300 Pro.

The position of the camera module with this high hump is still the same as the previous model, the only difference is the position of the flash light which is now located on the left side of the device. At the beginning of use, I think this high camera hump is quite annoying, but after a while I got used to it.

I had the chance to hold and feel the weight of the previous vivo X200 Pro, I found that the weight of the vivo X200 Pro was unbalanced because it was heavier on the camera module, but on the vivo X300 Pro I could feel that the weight was more balanced and comfortable to hold.

In the vivo X300 series this time, vivo has added a new button, the shortcut button. As the name suggests, you can change the function of this button according to your preference. The other buttons are still in the same position as the power and volume buttons located on the right side of the device. The USB-C charging port, SIM slot and speaker are on the bottom of the device.

The back panel uses glass construction with a matte finish and the frame on the side is made of aluminum. Apart from that, I like the latest color option, Dune Brown, because it makes this device look more premium. It still has IP68/IP69 certification for waterproof and dust resistance.

Screen

As I said earlier, the vivo X300 Pro now uses a completely flat screen. It uses a 6.78” AMOLED LTPO panel with UHD resolution that can reach up to 120Hz, has HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support. The brightness level is as high as 4500 nits, the same as the previous model.

The screen quality on the vivo X300 Pro is no longer a concern because it is indeed at the level of a flagship device. The collaboration with ZEISS is not only on the camera but on the screen also has ZEISS Master Color support. The screen is very responsive with good color reproduction and high resolution. The fingerprint sensor is also very fast because it uses an ultrasonic sensor.

Software – Origin OS 6

After several years of global users waiting for Origin OS, it has finally become official for global users with the presence of the vivo X300 series. Just open it from the box, the vivo X300 Pro is already running Origin OS 6 based on Android 16. Honestly, I have to say that I really don't like the previous Funtouch OS operating system with the presence of Origin OS, it provides a new experience.

The interface on Origin OS 6, called Dynamic Glow, looks neater than Funtouch OS first. This interface plays with light elements to provide a more attractive visual. The animations in ColorOS also feel very fast and smooth.

I know some may say that Origin OS looks a bit like iOS 26 from Apple, but for me it is not too bad because it can still provide a good user experience to users. To be honest, I have no big issues when using Origin OS 6, but as usual there are still some bulky applications available.

In terms of features, there are also many such as Origin Island, a changeable clock shape on the lock screen, can connect to Apple devices via EasyShare and not forgetting the AI features that make daily tasks easier. Overall, Origin OS 6 makes use more fun, smooth and certainly better when compared to Funtouch OS.

The device receives update support for up to 5 versions of Android and security patches for up to 7 years. This is lower than the 7+7 years offered by Google and Samsung but still good for long-term use.

Performance

The vivo X300 Pro is a device that uses the latest Mediatek flagship chip, the Dimensity 9500. This is a chip that will compete with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and Apple A19 Pro. One interesting thing about the vivo X300 Pro is that it uses UFS 4.1 storage in addition to using 16GB LPDDR5X RAM. The specifications given are quite impressive and powerful for a flagship device.

I compare this vivo X300 Pro with some other devices in the same class as below:

Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 – OnePlus 15

Tensor G5 – Google Pixel 10 Pro XL

Dimensity 9500 – Oppo Find X9 Pro

Apple A19 Pro – Apple iPhone 17 Pro

Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy – Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra

MediaTek Dimensity 9400 – Oppo Find X8 Pro

Apple A18 Pro – Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max

Apple iPhone 17 Pro 2,634,345

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra 1,946,864

Oppo Find X9 Pro 6127

Apple iPhone 17 Pro 5873

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra 6135

Oppo Find X8 Pro 6251

Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max 4560

Based on this benchmark test score, the Dimensity 9500 chip is indeed very powerful so real-time usage also feels very fast and smooth. I can say, you do any task on this device, there is no problem running it. Memory management is also very good because it uses large values so there is no problem doing multiple tasks simultaneously.

Daily tasks feel very, very smooth, even for playing games there is no big problem using high settings, just as usual the device will heat up a little. Although on paper this device uses two UFS 4.1 chips, I do not feel a significant difference with devices that use only one chip. Overall, I was satisfied with the previous Dimensity 9400, this Dimensity 9500 also provides the same satisfaction with double the power.

Camera

The camera is the main focus of this vivo X300 Pro. It is equipped with a ZEISS 50MP Gimbal-Grade main lens with LYT-828 sensor. A 200MP ZEISS APO telephoto lens with HPB sensor. A ZEISS 50MP ultra-wide lens and a ZEISS 50MP selfie lens as a complement. This device is also loaded with a VS1 chip for more beautiful image production.

This main lens can produce images with good quality even in low light conditions. There are several ZEISS color profiles that can be used but most of the images I took using the vivid setting so the color production was a little saturated and not excessive.

The telephoto lens on this device is very powerful, the image results still look sharp even at 10x zoom. At night it is also still able to maintain detail in the image. However, I noticed that there are some parts that are oversharpened to look sharper. This telephoto lens certainly provides satisfaction for me who likes tight compositions.

This ultra-wide lens is the same as the previous model but it is not a negative because it can produce good image quality like other lenses. The colors are also not too different from the main lens.

Because the vivo X300 series uses lenses from ZEISS, it indirectly has a T* coating to reduce lens flare problems and it is true because in night pictures I did not see any flare resulting from light.

As a flagship device, the vivo X300 Pro is also equipped with professional features such as the ability to record up to 4K 120FPS with Dolby Vision support as well as recording in 10-Bit LOG mode in the same resolution.

Battery

In recent times, Chinese brands have offered quite large battery capacities for their devices, and the vivo X300 Pro is no exception. With a 6510 mAh battery that uses SiC technology. The large capacity value can provide up to 7 hours if used heavily, such as playing with the camera a lot, but I'm sure it will be higher with moderate use.

Charging also does not disappoint, although there is nothing new. You will still get 90W FlashCharge wired which takes less than 1 hour to charge from 20% to full. In addition, this device is also equipped with 40W FlashCharge wireless charging as a complement.

Speakers

As a flagship device, the vivo X300 Pro is equipped with stereo speakers, but it does not have any support such as Dolby Audio and so on. The sound quality produced is quite unsatisfactory in my opinion. The sound produced is loud but feels quite empty and lacks dynamics. This is my biggest issue with the vivo X300 Pro.

What's in the Box

Here's what we received in the box:

1 x vivo X300 Pro

1 x USB-A to USB-C Cable

1 x USB-A 90W FlashCharge Charger

1 x Frame

1 x User Manual.

1 x SIM Ejector.

Conclusion

The vivo X300 Pro is indeed a flagship device that is quite good for various types of users. If you are a professional user, it can provide good performance or if you are a casual user it can provide a very good experience. The vivo X300 Pro is sold at a price tag of RM4699 for the 16/512GB model, for the pro features offered this price is reasonable and you can also get the Telephoto Extender Kit to provide double satisfaction using the vivo X300 Pro camera system.
