Sony Bravia 9 II and 7 II Launched with New True RGB Technology

Sony launched the Bravia 9 II and Bravia 7 II series smart TVs that use the new True RGB technology that was announced a few weeks ago. True RGB is seen as a competitor to OLED and Mini LED technology as it is said to be able to display more accurate colors and achieve high levels of brightness.

Sony Bravia 9 II

The Sony Bravia 9 II is the most prominent model as it comes with a choice of 75″, 85″ and 115″ 4K LCD screens with True RGB technology. With True RGB, the backlight lights up in red, green and blue individually compared to just white LED lights on a regular LCD TV. There is also an Immersive Black Screen Pro layer that reduces glare and makes the black color on the screen appear more opaque.

There is support for refresh rates up to 120Hz and when the input detects the PS5, it automatically turns on ALL which reduces the latency between the console and the TV. The audio system is also equipped with 8 audio drivers to offer a more comprehensive experience complete with Dolby Atmos support. There are also 4x HMDI, 2x USB, 1x LAN and 1x audio output.

The operating system used is Google TV so it supports various popular applications and can be controlled using voice. Google Cast and Apple AirPlay features are also supported to cast content from smart devices directly to the TV.

Sony Bravia 7 II

The Sony Bravia 7 II is a second-level model with a choice of 50″, 65″, 75″ and 98″ 4K LCD screens with True RGB technology. In terms of capabilities, it is comparable to the Bravia 9 II but without Immersive Black technology. The sound system is also reduced to only 4 audio drivers with Dolby Amios support.

Sony Malaysia said the BRAVIA 9 II and BRAVIA 7 II will hit the local market in late June 2026 with prices to be announced at the time of launch.
