Smartphone Production in Q2 2026 at Lowest Level Since 2013 Due to RAM Crisis

As predicted since last year, smartphone production will decline sharply this year due to the RAM supply crisis. According to the latest report by Counterpoint Research, smartphone production in Q2 2026 fell 11% compared to the same quarter last year. It has fallen to the lowest level since 2013.

Samsung is still at the top with a 24% market share followed by Apple (20%), Xiaomi (12%), Oppo (11%) and Vivo (8%). Despite the decline in smartphone production in Q2 2026, Samsung and Apple expanded their company's share percentage while others faced shrinkage.

Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo have previously reported reducing their smartphone production targets throughout 2026. In addition to the RAM supply crisis and rising prices, the Middle East war has also caused device production this year to be affected compared to 2025.
