Sony announced that pre-orders for its PlayStation 5 console speaker, called the Sony Pulse Elevate, will open on September 1st, 2026. For those who don't know, the speaker was announced about a year ago, but not much is known about it until now.
The speaker can be connected to the PlayStation 5 console wirelessly, and comes with planar magnetic audio drivers that Sony says are capable of processing audio at the same quality as what game developers were inspired to do.
Although the speaker comes with a 2.0 satellite design, both of these satellites come with a built-in subwoofer for deep bass quality, and the built-in microphones can not only capture your voice clearly, but are also good enough to cancel out noise when you're talking to your friends in-game.
Although the Sony Pulse Elevate speaker is marketed as a special speaker for the Sony PlayStation 5, it can also be connected to other devices such as PlayStation Portal, PC computers, Macs and others via Bluetooth. Sony also supports Multipoint wireless connections which allows it to be connected to two or more devices at once.
For now, additional specifications such as the battery life of this speaker are not yet known, but what is known is that this speaker has been listed on the PlayStation Malaysia website. According to a statement issued by Sony, the Sony Pulse Elevate speaker will be sold at a price of RM1099. Just like other countries, pre-orders will open on 2 September 2026, and will be officially sold on 12 November 2026.
