Wally Funk managed to fly into space with a Blue Origin rocket. Funk is now listed as the oldest person to ever fly into outer space


An overtaking female pilot, Wally Funk, became the oldest person to ever fly into space.





The 82 -year -old woman exploded into space alongside Amazon conglomerate founder Jeff Bezos and his brother Mark and 18 -year -old Dutch teenager Oliver Daemen on Tuesday (20/7).





"I didn't expect to be able to go up," said Funk, who has spent the last six decades reaching for space.





The four men exploded into space at New Shepard, a rocket developed by the Bezos Blue Origin company from a location in the Texas desert.



The plane was moving at almost three times the speed of sound, reaching an altitude of almost 100 km above the earth's surface. The capsule then returns to Earth with a parachute on a journey that lasts more than 10 minutes.



Wally Funk shared how happy he was while exploring the space. They landed safely in the Van Horn desert, Texas.
