Hot! Richard Branson Wants To Beat Jeff Bezos To Space

Space travel is getting closer. As an opener and to convince potential tourists, billionaire Richard Branson plans to fly into space on July 11, 2021.
Branson revealed that a fully manned space flight would be the first for his company, Virgin Galactic. This flight is part of a test flight before opening to the public.

If the plan goes according to schedule and works, it will beat billionaire Jeff Bezos who will also fly into space on July 20.

"I've always been a dreamer. My mom taught me to never give up and reach for the stars. On July 11th, it's time to turn those dreams into reality on board @VirginGalactic," Branson tweeted.

Quoted from Space, Friday (2/7/2021) Branson went into space using VSS Unity, Virgin Galactic's suborbital spacecraft.

VSS Unity with a capacity of six passengers will be transported by SpaceShipTwo on a suborbital flight. Afterwards, the VSS Unity was released and shot into space.

True to its mission name Unity 22, the flight was the 22nd test flight, the company's fourth space flight. This was the first to carry a full crew of two pilots and four experts, including Branson.

"I will rate Virgin Galactic. I am very proud to have a crew of mission experts and incredible pilots by my side as we fly into space," he said.

"This July, our dream will come true, and we are very happy to share that moment with you all. And when we come back, I will announce something very exciting, to give more people to become astronauts," continued Branson.

In addition to Branson, the Unity 22 crew consists of Chief Instructor Astronaut Beth Moses, Principal Operations Engineer Colin Bennett, Vice President of government affairs and research operations Sirisha Bandla. VSS Unity will be piloted by Dave Mackay and Michael Masucci.

"I truly believe that space belongs to all of us. After more than 16 years of research, engineering and testing, Virgin Galactic stands at the forefront of the new commercial space industry, opening up to humanity and changing the world, once and for all." Branson.
