On Thursday 19 August 2021, OnlyFans made a surprising announcement. As of October 2021, paid sites for adult content prohibit users from making pornographic uploads.
"To ensure the long-term sustainability of the platform, and to host an inclusive community of our creators and fans, we had to develop our content guidelines," OnlyFans said.
OnlyFans still allows nudist or nude content. However, it should not be any more vulgar than nudity.
OnlyFans' move is the result of pressure from payment service companies. Visa and MasterCard, for example, are getting stricter in enforcing rules related to pornography. OnlyFans also acknowledged that the decision was made in response to requests from the payment partners and the bank.

Savvy, who uses the name Venus in OnlyFans, said that during this time OnlyFans built wealth and popularity from the back of sex workers. He also mentioned that this policy was carried out because in the end money, aka getting bank support.
"In just an instant they dumped the creators who made their empire so they could serve the bank," said Savvy.

Content creators say that now there must be new platforms created to provide a safe space for sex workers to offer paid exclusive content.
