AnTuTu iPhone 13 Pro Score Overtakes iPhone 12 Pro, How Much?

The iPhone 13 was only announced a few days ago but this phone has already made its way to several benchmark platforms such as AnTuTu and Geekbench. From these benchmark results, the performance of the iPhone 13 looks superior to its predecessor.

AnTuTu uploaded the initial benchmark results of the iPhone 13 Pro on Weibo. They tested the iPhone 13 Pro variant with 6GB of RAM and 1TB of internal memory.

As a result, the iPhone 13 Pro scored an overall score of 839,765, far behind the iPhone 12 Pro which had a score of 705,725. This means that the performance of the iPhone 13 Pro has increased by almost 20% when compared to its predecessor, as quoted from GSM Arena, Sunday (19/9/2021).

As is known, all variants of the iPhone 13 use the A15 Bionic chipset which Apple claims is the fastest chip in the world. Interestingly, the chips used by the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini have 4-core GPUs, while the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max have 5-cores.

Meanwhile, the RAM capacity is still the same as the iPhone 12 variant, namely 4GB for the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini, and 6GB for the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max.

If you look at the GPU performance on the iPhone 13 Pro, the speed is up 19% compared to the iPhone 12 Pro. The results are pretty decent, but with one extra core the improvement should be more significant.

The biggest improvement can be seen from the memory test, which rose up to 44%. AnTuTu estimates this increase will be driven by the use of 1TB of internal memory, because the larger the size of the solid state drive, the faster it will perform.

With this score, the iPhone 13 Pro and A15 Bionic immediately shot to third place on the list of iOS devices compiled by AnTuTu. The iPhone 13 Pro is below the iPad Pro 11 and iPad Pro 12.9.

Apart from AnTuTu, Geekbench also has the iPhone 14.3, which is thought to be the iPhone 13 Pro Max. The CPU test results showed a single-core score of 1,734 and a multi-core score of 4,818.

Previously the iPhone 13 Pro also stopped by Geekbench to test the GPU. As a result, the iPhone 13 Pro recorded a Metal score of 14,216, up 55% compared to the 9,123 score recorded by the iPhone 12 Pro.

Unfortunately, until now there has been no leak of the Snapdragon 898 and Exynos 2200 benchmark scores that will power Android flagship phones in the future. So we still have to wait to compare the performance of the A15 Bionic with its two main competitors.
