The Mystery of Elon Musk Hasn't Flew To Space

Jeff Bezos, the owner of Blue Origin, is in the sky, and so is Richard Branson, the owner of Virgin Galactic. Only Elon Musk who so far has no sign of darting into space. What's wrong?

It's only natural that the question was raised. SpaceX has all the resources to get its boss into Earth orbit. Recently they launched the Inspiration4 mission which took 4 civilians a three day 'outing' in space.

"He could have spent a week in space in the Dragon capsule, just to see Earth. His staff could instantly make him an astronaut costume and he's also not a person who is afraid to take risks," wrote The Atlantic.

But at a time when the furor over Bezos and Branson's flights, Musk chose to stay behind the scenes, staying on Earth. Of course only he knows the reason why he hasn't been to space, but it's also predictable.

Garret Reisman, a former NASA astronaut, is quite close to Elon Musk. He recounted that Musk once said why do people go to low-Earth orbit? In other words, Musk doesn't seem to find the achievement interesting or commonplace.

"There are hundreds of satellites, astronauts on the International Space Station. Musk's goal is to reach and build a city on Mars as he says that life should be multi-planetary," added The Atlantic.

Well, it could be that Elon Musk only wants to fly if the destination is Mars or at least the Moon. Thus, he was able to achieve far more monumental achievements. Moreover, he once said he wanted to die on Mars, he could indeed be serious with his words.
