The iPhone 13 Pro has a 6.1-inch screen, while the iPhone 13 Pro Max has a 6.7-inch screen. Both feature OLED Super Retina XDR which supports adaptive refresh rates from 10Hz to 120Hz. Apple claims this new phone has the brightest display ever on an iPhone with a maximum outdoor brightness of 25% higher, at 1,000 nits.
The Cupertino tech giant provides Ceramic Shield protection, and is IP68 water resistant (6 meters for up to 30 minutes). The kitchen is powered by the A15 Bionic chip with 5nm fabrication, 6-core CPU, 4-core GPU and 16-core Neural Engine.
iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max are equipped with a new wide camera that has a sensor measuring 1.9 micron pixels and an aperture of f / 1.5. Apple claims this to be the largest sensor ever installed in an iPhone.
The wide camera on the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max offers a huge improvement in low light shooting of up to 2.2x when compared to the iPhone 12 Pro, and almost 1.5x when compared to the iPhone 12 Pro Max. Sensor shift stabilization is available on both models.
The new ultra-wide camera has a much wider f/1.8 aperture and has a new autofocus system, delivering a 92% improvement in low-light environments, resulting in brighter, sharper images.
Thanks to the new lens design, making Apple for the first time provide an auto focus feature on an ultra-wide camera on an iPhone. The appeal doesn't stop there, the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max have the ability to shoot macro with a minimum focus distance of 2 cm. Macro capabilities are extended to Slo-mo and Time-lapse video recording. The iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max also have a new telephoto camera with a focal length of 77 mm that offers 3x optical zoom for a total of 6x optical zoom on the camera system.
A Cinematic Mode is available for recording videos of people, pets and objects with beautiful depth effects with auto focus shifting and recording in Dolby Vision HDR. Apple also introduced ProRes (1080p at 30 fps for 128GB storage, 4K 30 fps on other models), an advanced video codec that is widely used as the final delivery format for commercials, feature films, and broadcasts, to offer higher color fidelity and less compression.
The company led by Tim Cook joked that the iPhone is the only smartphone in the world that provides end-to-end workflows, from capture, edit, and share in Dolby Vision or ProRes.
