The price of the Oppo Find N folding screen cellphone is tempting, equivalent to the iPhone 13 Pro

The Oppo Find N folding screen cellphone was officially released at the INNO Day 2021 event. The price of a competitor to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 is quite tempting, because it is equivalent to the iPhone 13 Pro on the market.

"With the Oppo Find N, we aim to change people's perception of what smartphones can offer and start making foldable devices more accessible to a larger audience," said Pete Lau, Chief Product Officer of Oppo.

Oppo Find N has two screens. On the outside there is a screen measuring 5.49 inches, while on the inside 7.1 inches.

When unfolded, the inner screen has an 8.4:9 aspect ratio so users can watch videos, play games and read books without having to rotate the device. While the screen on the outside has an aspect ratio of 18: 9 giving users the convenience of operating the phone with one hand.

Oppo Find N carries a screen called Serena. This screen is made with 12 layers so that it offers good durability.

The display includes a 0.03mm Flexion UTG (ultra-thin glass) coating, compared to 0.6mm for regular smartphone glass, making it easy to bend while providing strong durability. Oppo claims to have tested it up to 200,000 times.

The inner screen uses an LTPO screen with dynamic refresh rate technology between 1-120 Hz based on the content watched. The inner screen also features support for touch sampling rates of up to 1,000 Hz.

Both Oppo Find N displays provide 10,240 automatic brightness levels, ensuring user comfort in a variety of complex lighting situations, with peak brightness up to 1,000 nits.

Hinge & Operation

Speaking of hinges, Oppo puts together 136 components with extreme precision of up to 0.01 mm, ensuring the hinge works as smoothly as the joints in the human body. Oppo's unique waterdrop hinge design was created to solve some of the biggest problems with foldable devices.

The design is able to widen the fold angle of the screen and offers support when folded. As a result, folds are minimal by up to 80%, making them less visible compared to other devices.

It practically eliminates gaps between screens when folded, offers a more integrated display and better protects the inner screen from scratches.

The structure in the hinge allows the device to stand freely when opened between 50 and 120 degrees. Maximizing this capability, Oppo brings the FlexForm Mode feature to the Find N giving users the flexibility to adapt the device to various usage scenarios.

Oppo has also tweaked the user interface to operate better and efficiently on compatible apps such as Music, Notes, and Camera apps.

For example in the Notes app, the Oppo Find N can be turned into a mini laptop that allows you to take notes without needing to hold the device. Since the Find N can stand freely at various angles, it also doubles as a tripod, allowing users to make 4K HD timelapses, video calls, and online meetings easy and hands-free.

To take full advantage of the tablet-like experience, Oppo Find N includes new gestures to make side-by-side multitasking more intuitive. When using compatible apps, just use two fingers to swipe down on the center of the device to split the screen in half. Or turn a full-screen window into a floating one by pinching it with four fingers.

The Oppo Find N also supports traditional split-screen gestures, such as long-pressing and dragging compatible icons, while allowing users to save commonly used multi-app split-screen combinations to the Home screen.

In addition, various adjustments to the appearance of the keyboard are provided, including a split keyboard that makes it easy to use two thumbs to type, helping to maximize productivity.

Camera

The Oppo Find N comes with a triple camera setup for high-quality photos and videos. Embedded a 50 MP camera with a Sony IMX 766 sensor, combined with a 16 MP ultra-wide lens and a 13 MP telephoto lens.

There is a selfie camera on the inside and outside of the screen. Combined with FlexForm Mode, OPPO Find N gives users a more exciting camera experience.

The Find N camera app interface gives users the ability to use the large inner screen to efficiently take photos on one side and then view, share, or delete recent photos on the other.

When taking photos from the main camera with the screen open, the user and subject can use the inside and outside screens to preview the shot at the same time.

The rear camera can be used to take selfies using the cover screen to preview images. Selfies can also be taken using hand gestures, so users can easily shoot without having to press the shutter button.

Kitchen Run and Features

Oppo capitalizes on the Find N with a Snapdragon 888 processor and 8GB or 12GB of LPPDR5 RAM. The internal memory is UFS 3.1 512 GB.

The embedded battery is 4,500 mAh with 33W Super VOOC Flash Charge charging. It promises to fully charge the device in 70 minutes.

This foldable smartphone supports 15W AIRVOOC wireless charging (compatible with Qi standard) and 10W reverse wireless charging.

Oppo Find N includes a fingerprint scanner that is integrated into the power button on the side of the body. It has a dual speaker system and Dolby Atmos support for a more vibrant sound.

The Oppo Find N comes in three different colors. The Black variant combines shimmering matte glass and a new film lamination technique to achieve a subtle, premium gloss effect on the base coat.

The White option is inspired by white ceramic glaze, with glossy glass and a smooth texture that matches the ceramic camera plate to create a consistent feel.

While the Purple version is reminiscent of a bottle of luxury perfume, it uses several layers of special film to create the illusion of light and shadow with a transparent texture.

Oppo will start selling the Find N in China on December 23, 2021. Oppo Find N prices are as follows:

RAM 8GB 7,699

RAM 12GB 8,999
