Cheap iPhone SE launch date leaked with 5G

Apple seems to be preparing its first event in 2022. This event is rumored to be the launch site for the iPhone SE 3 with 5G.

In his latest newsletter, Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman said Apple might hold a virtual event in March or April 2022 to launch this low-cost iPhone.

"What do we expect? The possibility of a new iPhone SE, at least. Apple introduced the current iPhone SE early in the COVID-19 pandemic in April 2020," Gurman wrote in his report, as quoted from 9to5Mac, Monday (10/1/2022).

Strengthening information from other analysts such as Ming-Chi Kuo, Gurman said the new generation iPhone SE will have the same design as the 2020 iPhone SE (whose design follows the iPhone 8). The changes are only in terms of internals, by bringing a new chip (possibly A15 Bionic) and 5G support.

If the new iPhone SE still has the same design, chances are this phone will carry a 4.7-inch Retina HD LCD screen with a Home button for Touch ID. The bezels around the screen are also likely to be quite large.

Apple is also working on Macs with silicon chips, including the new Mac Pro and MacBook Air. But it is not known whether this device will also be exhibited at the spring event.

Gurman also expects Apple to hold its second event this year, WWDC, in June. At this software-only event, Apple will likely announce iOS 16, tvOS 16, macOS 13, and watchOS 9.

Although there are some who hope this year's WWDC will be held offline, Gurman said WWDC 2022 will still be held virtually for the third time.
