Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra Will Carry Less RAM

Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy S22 series will be introduced at the Galaxy Unpacked event next month. Just two weeks before it was announced, the pricing and configuration of the Galaxy S22 trio was revealed.

This leak comes from trusted tipster Roland Quandt. The leaked price is for the European market and shows that the price of the Galaxy S22 is still the same as its predecessor.

Quandt claims the Galaxy S22 will be priced starting at 849 euros for the 8GB/128GB variant, and 899 euros for the 8GB/256GB variant.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy S22+ is claimed to be released with prices starting from 1,049 euros for the 8GB/128GB variant, and 1,099 euros for the 8GB/256GB variant. Just like the previous generation, prospective buyers have to spend an additional 50 euros for a storage upgrade, and 200 euros for an upgrade to a more premium model.

Whoever said S22 series was to be cheaper, didn't think of Covid, parts shortages and inflation.

Actual official EURO prices:

S22 8/128GB = 849

S22 8/256GB = 899

S22+ 8/128GB = 1049

S22+ 8/256GB = 1099

S22 Ultra 8/128GB = 1249

S22 Ultra 12/256GB = 1349

S22 Ultra 12/512GB = 1449 pic.twitter.com/QRnfrhkzTz

For the Galaxy S22 Ultra which is the most premium model, the price starts from 1,249 Euros for the 8GB/128GB variant. This price is the same as the Galaxy S21 Ultra, but the phone comes with 12GB RAM for the lowest variant.

This means that buyers of the Galaxy S22 Ultra will likely pay the same price as the Galaxy S21 Ultra but instead get a device with less RAM, as quoted from The Verge, Monday (24/1/2022).

If you want to get a Galaxy S22 Ultra with more RAM and storage, you have to be prepared to spend a lot deeper. The 12GB/246GB variant will be released at a price of 1,349 Euros, while the 12GB/512GB variant will be priced at 1,449 Euros.

Last year's Galaxy S21 Ultra also came with a 16GB variant, but Quandt's leak did not provide information about this variant. Likewise with the Galaxy S22 Ultra 1TB variant which was previously rumored to be launching.

As explained earlier, this is a price prediction for the Galaxy S22 series for the European market. It is unknown whether Samsung will use the same pricing strategy in the market.

Samsung itself has not provided a more specific Galaxy S22 launch schedule. In their latest blog, they only explain that this flagship phone will be announced next month.
