Google and McLaren Racing announced a partnership for 2022. As part of the partnership, the Android logo will be featured on the engine covers of McLaren F1 cars.
Not only that, the Chrome logo will also be displayed on the car's wheels. Google will also provide its products, such as Android devices and Chrome for the F1 racing team during this season.
The collaboration that will last for several years is not limited to the McLaren Formula 1 team, but also to the McLaren MX Extreme E team, as quoted by GSM Arena, Monday (21/3/2022).
Of course, the branding of various Google products will also appear on the clothes worn by Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo, the F1 drivers for McLaren Racing, as well as Emma Gilmour and Tanner Foust, the drivers for the Extreme E team.
McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown said through this collaboration his team would be better supported to focus on their racing performance. Meanwhile for Google, McLaren Racing represents the best combination of on-track performance, inclusion and sustainability, said Nicholas Drake, Google's VP of Marketing.
The Android and Chrome logos first appeared on the MCL36 F1 car that competed at the Grand Prix of Bahrain which took place last night, Sunday (20/3/2022), where Ricciardo and Norris finished in 14th and 15th place.
Meanwhile, the McLaren MX Extreme E car with the Android and Chrome logo will only compete at the Island X Prix which is scheduled to be held in the first half of May.
Previously, McLaren had worked with OnePlus. Where then is the OnePlus phone with a McLaren-style design. Then in the 2022 season, there is also Qualcomm whose logo appears on the Ferrari F1-75 car, which at the Bahrain GP last night controlled the podium, namely Charles Leclerc in first position and Carlos Sainz Jr. in second position.
