This drama is a production of JTBC directed by Kim Seok Yoon and written by Park Hae Young. Kim Seok Yoon himself previously directed Old Miss Diary, Law School, to The Light in Your Eyes.

Meanwhile, Park Hae Young is known as a drama writer who often brings tears to the audience, having previously written for My Mister, starring IU, Lee Ji Ah, to Lee Sun Kyun. No doubt if this drama is predicted to also make the audience shed tears when watching it.
Launching Soompi, My Liberation Diary will tell the story of three brothers who want to escape from their suffocating life, as well as the unexpected situation when a stranger comes to the city where they live.
The three brothers are Yeom Mi Jung (Kim Ji Won), Yeom Chang Hee (Lee Min Ki), and Yeom Ki Jung (Lee El). Yeom Mi Jung is the youngest child with a closed personality, but she decides to take action to change her life which she feels is 'monotonous'.
Meanwhile, Yeom Chang Hee, is the middle child and the only man among three siblings. He has the desire to do various fun activities, but has no ambition to achieve them. However, Chang Hee is also a rational figure who has a 'warm' side.
Then the eldest son, Yeom Ki Jung, feels that his youth has been spent working, so Ki Jung feels desperate to find his love. The lives of the three brothers slowly change, after a stranger called Tuan Goo (Son Seok Gu) suddenly appears and slowly gets involved in their lives.
