WhatsApp is preparing many new features that will be rolling out on Android, iOS and desktop. One of them is the poll feature that will be present in WhatsApp groups.
This new feature was discovered by tipster WABetaInfo on WhatsApp for iOS beta version. Because this feature is still in the development stage, WhatsApp users haven't been able to try it out but have been able to see the trailer thanks to a leak from WABetaInfo.
WABetaInfo said this poll feature is only available in WhatsApp groups. From the uploaded screenshot, WhatsApp will ask the user to enter a poll question that will be sent to the group.
"Note that the poll will only be available in WhatsApp groups and will be encrypted end-to-end... even your answers," WABetaInfo said on its blog, as quoted from 9to5Mac, Tuesday (8/3/2022).
"So only people in the group can see the poll and its results."

Since this feature is still in the development stage, it is not yet known what mechanism WhatsApp will implement. Will there be a limit to the answers offered, how long polls can be accessed by group members, and how many polls can be created at one time.
The poll feature itself has previously been present in Instagram Stories. It is not yet known whether the polling feature on WhatsApp will be the same as that offered by its sister app.
In addition to the poll feature, WhatsApp is also preparing many other new features that will be coming soon. Like the message reaction feature, which allows users to react to a message in the form of an emoji.
Another new feature of WhatsApp that is also eagerly awaited is Communities. This feature allows admins to put the groups they manage into a single container called Communities.
