Melinda French admits she is still 'healing' from her divorce from Bill Gates. She is still reluctant to choose the word 'friend' for her ex-husband.
In an interview with CBS with Gayle King last March, Melinda said that she would still work well with Bill Gates on work matters.
"Friend?" King asked referring to Melinda's relationship with Bill Gates.
"Friend is a different word for me, maybe it will happen over time but for me there is still a need to heal the wound," replied Melinda.
In their conversation, Melinda also admitted to being open to the possibility of falling in love again and dating new people. He is trying to get back up from the pain after parting with the Microsoft founder.
The Melinda-Bill Gates marriage lasted 20 years before breaking down. Melinda French revealed there were moments where she continued to cry throughout her marriage. He also had insisted on maintaining his household but he still could not continue.
"I gave everything for this marriage. I was committed to this marriage from the time we got engaged and until I finished it... but I think society blames a lot of women like this on us. I didn't do anything wrong so I held my head high," he said. That's according to The Guardian.
