Modern parents need to be more vigilant because the challenges of raising children in this cyber age are higher than previous generations. Among the ones that are often forgotten is the app controls that children can use safely. Meta yesterday launched two more control features for Instagram and their virtual reality device for parents.
In Instagram parents or guardians can control when the app can be used. May be limited to weekends only or after school hours. View account information that has been reported by children in their care including who was reported or what offense.
In Quest’s virtual reality device, meanwhile, parents can grant permissions to what apps can be purchased, block certain age-inappropriate apps, view time spent in VR and view their friends list.
