WhatsApp's New Feature, Can Mute Others During Group Calls

WhatsApp has rolled out several new features in the last week, including the ability to mute others during group calls.

Through his Twitter account, Head of WhatsApp Will Cathcart said regarding the latest update for group calls.

"Some new features for group calls on @WhatsApp: you can now mute or message specific people in a call (useful if someone forgets to mute themselves!), and we've added a useful indicator so you can more easily see when more people join the big call," he tweeted recently.

One of its features is the indicator placed at the bottom of the group call. This indicator notifies all call participants when someone joins a group call. This feature will also be available for iOS and Android users

Meanwhile in a screenshot on WABetainfo, the mute option will appear when the user clicks on the name of one of the group call participants. In addition to mute, users can also send messages to the person.

Please note, this feature does not only apply to the user making the call, but also to other participants in the call to mute.

This feature will certainly be very useful, especially WhatsApp has also increased group calls which allow up to 32 participants.

Likewise, this feature gives you the ability to mute other people in a group voice call. You will no longer be bothered by loud noises like the television on while trying to hear other people talking.

In addition, the application belonging to the technology giant Meta will also launch a new feature that will allow beta users to filter unread chats with the filter button, as quoted by Times Now. Earlier in January, a similar feature was released for WhatsApp business as reported by us from Times Now.
