Elon Musk Asks Court To Reject Twitter's Request

Twitter has officially sued Elon Musk in a Delaware court, demanding that the world's richest man comply with an acquisition deal that he intends to cancel. Twitter wants the trial to take place immediately and Elon Musk's legal team has asked the court to reject the request.

As quoted by us from CNBC, Elon Musk's team wants to take longer to prepare for the trial. In fact, according to them, the trial should only be held next year around February.

Meanwhile, Twitter asked for a hearing to be held in September. Lawyers for Elon Musk said Twitter's request for a speedy trial was their tactic after months of confusing information.

"This is Twitter's latest tactic to cover up the truth about spam accounts," said attorney Elon Musk. The expedited trial is a way to trick problems that occur with spam accounts.

As is known, Elon Musk canceled the purchase of Twitter because they considered them to be dishonest about the number of fake accounts that spread on his site which was claimed to be only about 5%.

Twitter's lawsuit was filed in the Delaware Court of Chancery on Tuesday (12/7/2022) local time. Twitter's team of attorneys said they were trying to prevent Musk from breaching the agreement, and to "force finalize the merger after meeting several unresolved conditions."

"In April 2022, Elon Musk signed a binding merger agreement with Twitter, pledging to use his best efforts to complete the deal. Now, less than three months later, Musk refuses to honor his obligations to Twitter and shareholders because the deal he signed no longer serves. his personal interests," reads the lawsuit.
