Apple Blocks Telegram Update On iOS Due To Emoji

Last week, one of the things that stole the attention was when the CEO of Telegram said that Apple was blocking the update of the Telegram app on iOS. However, after going through several phases, the update has already been introduced to the public since the end of this week.

From what Telegram's CEO shared, this update was blocked by Apple due to the use of a new animated emoji, called Telemoji. Apple has requested that the feature be removed before offering an update to the app.

Telegram's CEO said Telemoji has the opportunity to bring a new dimension in the emoji ecosystem arena, with high quality and resolution, in addition to supporting animation.

Although not stated, it's possible that Apple blocked it for violating copyright or their own emoji designs. Each provider company has different emoji designs according to their respective copyrights, and Microsoft itself has recently started to offer their emojis in open-source form.
