IKEA Sells Faucet Adapters That Can Reduce Water Use

This year we can see the impact of climate change in front of our eyes. In Europe, the United States and China there was a long drought that resulted in rivers and major lakes being dry. Therefore we are often reminded to conserve water because it will be a dwindling resource.

IKEA as a company that has a clear image with the environment has launched an adapter for ÅBÄCKEN pipes. When connected to a faucet, ÅBÄCKEN can reduce water consumption to 0.25/minute in water splash mode for washing hands or a higher 1.9L/minute in spray mode for washing toothbrushes for example which reduces normal water consumption at a rate of 5.7L/minute.

This according to IKEA will reduce water consumption between 66% and 95%. It is also made of plastic material with 40% of it taken from recycled plastic. There are similar products sold in the market but made of metal and expensive. The sale price has not yet been announced but IKEA will provide a three-year warranty.
