The government is currently planning to make amendments to the act related to transport, by focusing on the delivery of food and goods by motorbike.
Among the amendments that are being considered is moving the age limit for riders of goods delivery services to no less than 18 years (compared to 21 years today).
Besides that, in addition to having to have a Competent Driving License in the motorcycle class, food delivery people also need to have a Vocational License.
This additional license will also provide additional training, as there have been complaints that these food or goods couriers do not comply with road rules.
With this step also, it will allow the government to know the number of those who participate in the food or goods delivery arena, in addition to being able to regulate and take care of the welfare of those involved.
The regulator will also enable other requirements such as insurance coverage, operational level control, and several others.
The Minister of Transport said three Bills to amend the relevant act will be presented for debate and approval by Parliament in the next session.
