A few months ago it was heard that Samsung would use a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip that was produced in-house through their foundry. But the 9to5Google website reports that the Samsung Galaxy S23 series will use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy chip which is faster than the regular Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
The chip will have a main core at a speed of 3.36GHz which is faster than the 3.2GHz on a regular chip, four performance cores of 2.8GHz and three efficiency cores at a speed of 2.0 GHz. Only the main core works at a higher speed.
It is not known whether this rumor is true or not because the sales brochure for the Galaxy S23 that was leaked this week does not contain the phrase Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy at all.
With Apple on the verge of challenging their position as the manufacturer with the world's largest smartphone market share, Samsung needs to offer better products than its competitors that use the Android operating system.
