Framework launched their modular laptop in 2018 with the aim of empowering owners to easily upgrade any component. CPU, RAM, SSD, WiFi card and computer port components can be replaced using a modular slot system. This week Laptop Framework 16 was announced with it finally supporting GPU switching for the first time.
The slot for the GPU component is placed at the back compared to the other slots that were placed on the side of the previous Framework Laptop 13 laptop. Framework Laptop 16 also supports keyboard customization with the option to come with number keys. The choice of normal and RGB lighting systems will also be given.
More interesting is the module for audio accessories giving a choice of audo jack, USB-C or full bluetooth. If the user does not want to use the GPU card, the used PCIe x8 slot can be connected to an additional SSD memory module.
The sale price and GPU model options have not been announced at this time. The product launch will be launched as early as next month with the product going on sale by the end of this year.
