Amazon WorkSpaces Thin Client Computers Launch For Desktop Access In The Cloud

Amazon has launched the Amazon WorkSpaces Thin Client which is an affordable device that allows accessing Amazon WorkSpaces, Amazon WorkSpaces Web, and Amazon AppStream 2.0 virtual desktop services in the cloud.

According to Amazon, this WorkSpaces Thin Client is an affordable solution to computer needs in the office as it is sold for $195 (~RM913) apiece. This contrasts with current equipment in the form of more expensive laptops and desktops. Monitors, mice, keyboards, web cameras, and various USB accessories can be connected to the WorkSpaces Thin Client for use like a regular desktop computer.

The WorkSpaces Thin Client is a modified Fire TV Cube with a 2.2 GHz octa-core processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. In addition to being used for work, the WorkSpaces Thin Client can also be connected to a TV and it operates as a Prime Video or Netflix content streaming contract. This is also the first time that an Amazon consumer product has been modified for use by AWS customers.
