Android 15 Will Support Better Camera Stabilization For Third-Party Apps

Android 15 can already be tested by Google Pixel users. More details about Android 15 will be announced at the Google I/O 2024 event and the stable version will arrive to users later this year. Most recently, developers began to find code for plug-in support on the Camera2 API that can stabilize video recordings on third-party applications.

A plugin for developers to use is Eyes Free which allows an application with a camera such as WhatsApp, Snapchat, Instagram and others to focus on the subject and keep locking to ensure the video results are more beautiful and without any shaking effects. Eyes Free can also be matched with other plugins that developers already use such as auto mode, bokeh mode, facial beauty mode, HDR mode and even night mode.

This means that in the future, Android 15 devices will have better camera support that is not limited to the main camera of the device. On the other hand, any application that has a camera function can also take advantage of this feature. Anyway, it can only be used if the developer integrates this Camera2 API plugin.
