A year after the BMW CE 04 electric scooter was launched in the local market at the Malaysia Autoshow 2023 event, next week BMW Motorrad Malaysia will be announcing their electric scooter, the BMW CE 02, at the same event, the Malaysia Autoshow 2024.
This BMW CE 02 electric scooter will be the second electric motorcycle offered by BMW Motorrad for the local market, and will be placed in the Urban Mobility category along with other scooters including the CE 04, C 400 X and C 400 GT.
In terms of specifications, the BMW CE 02 has an engine that provides a maximum power of 15hp and can accelerate from 0-50km/h in 3 seconds. It has 2 batteries with a capacity of 1.96kW which gives a travel distance of 95km on the WMTC count, and can be charged from 20% to 20% in around 168 minutes.
Unlike the BMW CE 04 which has 4 riding mode options, the BMW CE 02 only has two, called 'Flow' for normal riding patterns and 'Surf' for aggressive riding patterns. The display is 3.5-inches and there is a special stand for the user's smartphone to be used as a second display.
At the moment it is not certain if this kapcai will receive electric motorcycle incentives from MARiiCAS. Let's all look forward to BMW Motorrad Malaysia's official announcement next week at Malaysia Autoshow 2024 regarding prices and specifications for the local market.
