It's been years since Netflix on television used the same interface. Sidebar with different tabs, search screen with alphabet box, hard to change profile, hard to go to settings page and slow. This will finally change as a drastic interface update is coming soon.
Only, this change is said to happen on Apple TV first. Netflix will use a modern interface by focusing content information that is easier for users to see. In the future when the user selects a movie or TV series, the information will be displayed in the middle of the screen with other titles pushed to the side. Then, if a title has been selected and the user has not selected another title – it will display a preview and continue playing.
The sidebar will be removed as it will now use the top bar. Tabs will be summarized just like the Netflix app for iOS. It will now display icons for search, homepage, shows, movies and My Netflix. For now, this change is being tested by selected users with it being rolled out to everyone in the coming months.
