Today, Oppo officially launched the two latest models in the Reno12 series, the Reno12 and Reno12 Pro in the Malaysian market. Both have a very similar design with a focus on portrait mode capabilities infused with AI power as well as a large battery capacity.
Oppo Reno12 Pro and Reno12 share most of the same internal specifications. Both have a combination of 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage. It is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 (4nm) chip. Meanwhile, the size of the 5000mAh battery capacity used also supports SUPER VOOC 80W wired charging.
The screen size is also the same which is AMOLED 6.7" FHD+ with a refresh rate of 120Hz and the peak brightness level can reach up to 1200nits. Both body models of this device pass the IP65 waterproof standard and are equipped with stereo speakers and an IR emitter at the top. Other specifications include running Android 14, ColorOS 14.1, built-in 5G network and more.
The difference shown through these two models is in terms of camera specifications. For the Oppo Reno12 Pro, there is a triple camera setup with a 50MP main camera, OIS. Followed by a 50MP telephoto sensor and supports optical zoom up to 2X and the third camera is an 8MP ultra-wide camera. As for the front camera, it is 50MP.
Meanwhile, the Oppo Reno12 also has a triple camera setup but with different lens capabilities. Among them, a 50MP wide camera, 8MP for ultra-wide camera and 2MP for macro camera. The front camera is 32MP.
Along with the launch of this new model, Oppo also introduced several new features along with AI capabilities available to further improve the user experience. Among them is the AI Clear Face feature that makes face shots more clear and realistic. Next is AI Best Face which can ensure that all subjects (individuals) in the picture have open eyes.
In addition, Oppo also updated the AI Eraser 2.0 feature that can detect unwanted elements or objects in the picture and remove them. More interestingly, AI features are also used to improve the user experience in terms of text and speech such as AI Toolbox and AI Recording Summary and various other interesting AI features.
In addition, AI LinkBoost technology is also included to improve signal reception and optimize fast network switching based on the user's environment. Not only that, OPPO has also introduced the BeaconLink feature for Reno12 and Reno12 Pro to allow it to be used in situations such as flights, underground train transportation and so on without any network coverage problems.
Various color options are also available for each device model, among which are Matte Brown, Sunset Pink and Astro Silver colors for the Reno12 while the color options available for the Reno12 Pro are Nebula Silver, Sunset Gold and Space Brown. The Oppo Reno12 series can now be purchased at Oppo's official online store on Shopee as well as Lazada and also official sellers of Oppo products nationwide today.
In Malaysia, the selling price for the Reno12 is RM2199 (12GB + 512GB). Meanwhile, for the more flagship version, which is Reno12 Pro, it is RM2599 (12GB+512GB).
