The Huawei Mate70 and Mate X6 series were launched in China yesterday as the latest flagship devices from Huawei. As usual, Huawei did not share any information about the chips used, let alone the configuration of the CPU, GPU, NPU and the production technology used. But information about it began to leak with these devices confirmed to use the new HiSilicon Kirin 9020 chip.
The Kirin 9020 is an improvement on the Kirin 9010 used in the Pura70 earlier this year. It uses a 2+6+4 core configuration with two main cores at a speed of 2.5GHz, six middle cores at a speed of 2.1Ghz and four small cores at a speed of 1.6GHz. This is matched with the Maleoon 920 GPU with a speed of 840MHz. This is an improvement over the Maleoon 910 GPU with a speed of 750MHz.
It is still unknown what technology is used but it is most likely still 7nm like the Kirin 9010. No other specifications are known, except that Huawei's Consumer Business CEO said the Kirin 9020 offers a performance increase of up to 40% compared to the previous generation chip.
