CIMB Google Pay Transactions Over RM250 No Longer Require PIN Starting March 25, 2025

CIMB has updated its Google Pay transaction method. Starting March 25, 2025, any Google Pay transaction exceeding RM250 will no longer require PIN card verification. Instead, it will be replaced with a facial scan (Face ID), fingerprint or digital wallet passcode (Google Wallet). This means that the payment process will become easier and faster for all users.

For context, this digital payment system has been offered in Malaysia since November 2022. This is also a new update after CIMB announced that the CIMB Clicks application will be completely discontinued on April 12, 2025. Therefore, those who are still using the application are advised to switch to CIMB OCTO as soon as possible to ensure smooth banking transactions.
