Ministry of Digital: Data Sharing Act 2025 Now in Force – Data Sharing Between Ministries and Government Agencies

The Ministry of Digital has now shared that the Data Sharing Act 2025 has already come into force in Malaysia. With this step, it provides a legal and structured framework for secure data sharing between ministries and federal government agencies.

With this step, it creates an application process for obtaining data by federal agencies, as well as stipulating how the application will be handled. Subsequently, the National Data Sharing Committee will conduct a strict assessment of each application, based on the criteria in the act.

This data sharing is also said to be very important in the development of technology, including involving artificial intelligence, in addition to applications for various sectors such as healthcare, urban planning, and so on.
