Epic Games Store is a computer game store that is quite famous for offering free computer games from time to time, and technically, is among the app stores that take lower commission profits compared to other companies.
Recently, Tim Sweeney, CEO of Epic Games has announced that starting June 2025, Epic Games Store will not take any commissions for computer games that record sales figures of less than $1 million (~RM4.3 million).
If the game's sales exceed $1 million, only then Epic Games will take a 12 percent cut of the sale, which is a much lower figure compared to the Apple App Store and Steam (30 percent).
Epic Games will also introduce EGS Webshops, which allows developers to introduce in-app stores that will be hosted by Epic Games itself, allowing developers to get full profit from in-app transactions without having to give any cuts to other app stores such as the Apple App Store, Google Play Store and Steam.
Similar to the update to sales commissions on the Epic Games Store, they will also begin introducing the EGS Webshop feature starting this June.
