New Microsoft Accounts Now No Longer Require Passwords

Microsoft is now taking a step forward towards a password-free world, thus reducing the rate of users becoming victims of cyber attacks. After already supporting the use of Microsoft accounts without passwords, Microsoft is now enabling all new account registrations to no longer require a password.

Alternatively, new users will have to choose options such as a passkey, activating notifications on the device, or using other security keys. In addition to new users, Microsoft is now giving existing users the option to delete their account passwords, and also switch to using a passkey.

Apart from Microsoft, several other services are also using password-free account support, and in Malaysia, one of them is Daun.
