Samsung will hold an Unpacked event on September 4th, where it will be the platform for the Galaxy S25 FE, Tab S10 Lite and Buds3 Lite to be launched. There are rumors that smart glasses and headsets will be shown at the event. South Korean media this morning reported that Samsung's mixed reality headset will be launched on September 29th.
This Project Moohan headset has been almost two years in the making, and it was developed through a collaboration between Google and Qualcomm. Its launch was delayed a year after the Vision Pro was shown by Apple, with reports of Moohan's development being revamped.
Based on some official information shared, Moohan will use the new Android XR operating system, which can not only display MR content but also sell virtual reality (VR). In terms of capabilities, it will have similarities to the Vision Pro and Vivo Vision that were just launched.
Is there still a market for MR headsets because Meta itself seems ready to wave the white flag and jump straight into the production of MR smart glasses? Vision Pro sales, which were initially encouraging, have now lost momentum due to the lack of useful applications.
