Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra Review – A Flagship Tablet for Entertainment and Work

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 series has already arrived in the Malaysian market as a flagship tablet from this brand with the Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra being the highest-end model offered. Judging from the capabilities of this tablet, it is definitely aimed at creatives and professionals to increase productivity. I would like to try the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra myself as a casual user and is it worth owning.

Design

The design of the Tab S11 Ultra actually looks like the same design as the previous model and there is nothing too eye-catching. But for me it is not a bad thing because most of the time you will probably use the frame provided when using this tablet.

One thing that I am very impressed with the design of this tablet is its thinness. When opening the box and holding this tablet for the first time I was quite surprised because it is only 5.1mm thick. This is only 0.9 mm thicker than the Galaxy Z Fold7. But again, if you use the frame, this level of thinness is not so important

If you are a rugged user, maybe this is the right tablet for you because its entire body is made of Armor Aluminum and also has an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.

The difference between this Tab S11 Ultra and the previous model is the position of the magnetic charger to place the S Pen, which is now placed on the top of the tablet instead of on the back. To be honest, I prefer to place this S Pen on the back because it will be more safely protected by the frame. When placed on the side, this S Pen is quite easy to detach from the body of this tablet, for example when storing this tablet in a bag.

Speaking of the S Pen, the S Pen on this Tab S11 Ultra also uses a slightly different design. Now it is shaped like a pencil that we are familiar with, which is a hexagon. With the use of this shape, using the S Pen now feels more natural to provide a writing or drawing experience as if using a regular pencil.

Screen

The screen on the Tab S11 Ultra is the best in its class using a 2X AMOLED panel, a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ and a maximum brightness level of up to 1600nits. This is the largest tablet I have ever used with a size of 14.6”.

You really don't have to worry about anything about the display from the Tab S11 Ultra. Every color produced is very vivid according to the use of an AMOLED panel combined with a fairly sharp resolution of WQXGA+. So whether for entertainment purposes or to do work, this screen is able to display content very well.

For me the screen quality on the Tab S11 Ultra is quite good and perfect but actually for me the 14.6” size is a bit too big for me. Before trying this Tab S11 Ultra, I already had my own tablet which was smaller in size which is 11.5”. The size is actually good enough for my use. Using this Tab S11 Ultra is like carrying a real laptop with the same screen size. Playing games is also not comfortable on this giant screen if you use touch controls.

Audio

The speakers on this Tab S11 Ultra also do not disappoint to be combined with the beautiful screen. There are 4 speakers in total, 2 on the left and right sides of the tablet. The audio quality is very good where I can edit music directly from these speakers alone. So as far as watching movies or content on Youtube and so on, these speakers can provide good audio quality.

Performance

This Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra is the first flagship tablet I have ever used. It is complete with a very good flagship chip for everyday use which is the Dimensity 9400+. This chip is combined with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and a storage option of 256GB up to 1TB. With the performance provided no matter what task you give, the tablet has no problem doing it.

Because there are not many flagship tablets with the same chip capabilities, I compared the performance of the Tab S11 Ultra with phones using flagship chips, namely the iPhone 17 Pro (A19 Pro), vivo X200 Pro (Dimensity 9400) and Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra (Snapdragon 8 Elite For Galaxy)

Antutu 3D

Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra – 2,787,650

iPhone 17 Pro – 2,634,345

vivo X200 Pro – 2,312,342

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra – 1,946,864

Geekbench 6

Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra – 2643/8686

iPhone 17 Pro – 3560/8835

vivo X200 Pro – 1923/7102

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra – 2957/9435

3D Mark Wildlife Extreme

Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra – 6106

iPhone 17 Pro – 5873

vivo X200 Pro – 6008

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra – 6135

As you can see from the benchmark test above, the Dimensity 9400+ chip is still powerful when compared to the latest chips like the A19 Pro from Apple. For heavy tasks like playing games that require high power, it is not a problem for this tablet.

E-sports games like Mobile Legends are indeed no issue to play on ultra settings. For games like CarX Street there is also no problem to run it on high graphics settings. In terms of heating, it seems to be less noticeable because the large body of this tablet can disperse the heat generated quite well.

So if you are just a casual user and not a hardcore gamer, this tablet is powerful enough for you, but I think it is a bit excessive for you to buy this tablet for casual use or to play games.

+ Use of OneUI 8

Like other Samsung devices, the Tab S11 Ultra is also equipped with One UI 8 based on Android 16 as its operating system. To be honest, I don't see any significant changes in One UI 8, it looks quite similar to the previous version. But it's not a bad thing, this operating system feels smooth with the use of the Dimensity 9400+ chip.

Using One UI 8 on this tablet is the same as using other Samsung phones, only it has been slightly modified for tablet use with a larger screen. If you are used to Samsung devices, there is no problem using a tablet and I think people who have never used a Samsung device can also learn to use One UI very easily.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra also has a flagship feature as found on several other flagship devices, namely the Samsung Dex feature. Perhaps everyone is aware that Samsung DeX allows several Samsung devices, especially in the flagship class, to turn into computers when connected to a monitor. With this feature, it makes the Tab S11 Ultra look like a real computer.

As a flagship product, the Tab S11 Ultra is also full of the same Galaxy AI features as the Galaxy S25 series and Galaxy Z series. My experience using the Galaxy AI is very satisfying so using Galaxy AI on this tablet may further enhance your productivity and creativity to a different level.

Camera

The Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra is also equipped with 2 camera systems on the back, namely the 13MP f/2.0 main lens and the 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide lens. The selfie lens is 12MP ultra-wide. There is actually nothing interesting about the camera system of this tablet, it is just there for basic use.

In good light conditions and a stable grip, the pictures look mediocre. It is clear and obvious that this tablet is not designed for a camera system that is too sophisticated because it focuses on productivity. I am also sure that no one wants to buy a tablet because of its camera system even though this is a flagship tablet.

Battery

As the most flagship tablet from Samsung, this tablet is loaded with a battery of 11,600mAh. Honestly, I'm the one who's tired of draining the battery on this tablet. I can finish 11 episodes of the Kaiju No.8 anime on this tablet with the battery still around 50%. So, I can conclude that the battery performance on this tablet is very good. However, in terms of charging, it contradicts the battery performance because with a 45W charger it can recharge this tablet in a relatively long time, which is around 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra is quite impressive in terms of specifications such as a durable body, smooth performance and can increase productivity whether for creative purposes or daily work. However, for me, this tablet is a bit excessive for my own use because I still use a laptop as my main device to do work. If you are a creative user or want a tablet with luxurious specifications, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra is the answer that can be considered.
