Apple is reportedly laying off a number of employees in its sales department, especially those focused on enterprise, business and government sales. The full number of employees affected by this move is not known at this time.
In addition to the sales department, the layoffs also involve a number of employees who manage and demo products to enterprise and government customers.
The main reason behind this is unknown – apart from the sales department focusing on government agencies, where sales were affected due to the recent suspension of government operations in the United States.
The year 2025 has seen various companies optimizing their operating costs, including giants such as Apple, Microsoft, Amazon and others. In Malaysia itself, Petronas is also optimizing their operating costs, which has affected a number of employees.
