Nothing Phone (4a) Series Receives New Update Including Live Updates Feature On AOD

Nothing offers a new update for the latest Nothing 4(a) series devices with improvements that emphasize better daily usability, focus balance, and deeper system customization. Among the updates provided are the following:

Live Updates On Glyph Bar

The Live Update feature now allows important information such as travel status, delivery, and timers to be displayed directly on the Always-On Display (AOD), Status Bar, Lock Screen, and Notifications. When the phone is placed nearby, the Glyph Bar also displays the updates simultaneously through new lighting. With this integration, users can monitor updates more easily without having to open the application. It makes the daily experience more seamless and comprehensive because the information is always available as soon as you look at the screen or Glyph Bar.

Relaxation Hub

The new Breathing Break widget comes with three mode options: Focus, Relax, and Calm. Each mode uses specially designed haptic patterns to guide breathing, helping users calm down, reduce stress, and increase focus throughout the day. With this, users will find it easier to consistently regulate their breathing rhythm, making their daily experience more balanced and supporting their mental and physical well-being.

Essential Apps Drawer

The essential apps section now displays recommended apps. Users can add these apps directly to the home screen without having to open Playground. In the context of Nothing OS, Playground is a special space that functions as a center for additional apps and widgets. It allows users to manage, and customize the available apps and features in more depth. With the Essential Apps Drawer, users no longer need to go into Playground.

Lock Screen Updates

The new clock design from Phone (3a) Community Edition is now also provided on this new series as a result of collaboration with the community. It comes with an exclusive typography style and unique animations that add an interesting touch to the display. Depth Effect (Beta) support is also included to provide a deeper visual effect. In addition, users can adjust the size and position of the clock, making the layout more flexible and truly according to their personal style.

AI Eraser

AI Eraser allows users to erase unwanted objects in pictures, whether people in the background, reflections or manually selected areas. According to Nothing, this process is carried out entirely on the device without involving cloud storage, thus ensuring user privacy is more guaranteed. However, it is important to note that using AI Eraser will remove the Ultra XDR functionality from edited images.

This update is being rolled out first to users of the Nothing Phone (4a) series. Older Nothing devices will receive it in stages over the coming weeks.
