Bank Islam previously, in 2022, was ready to offer a separate banking app called Be U. It comes with a more modern and simplified interface, and focuses on savings, in addition to access to several additional features such as finding gig jobs. It was also positioned as a “digital bank” by Bank Islam at the time, because you can open an account directly through the app immediately.
However, it now appears that Bank Islam has chosen to end the Be U service. Bank Islam says Be U has now completed the incubation phase, and all Be U accounts will be transferred to the main BIMB Mobile banking app.
Starting April 24, 2026, which is today, Bank Islam will also no longer offer new customer registrations, as well as several products through Be U.
Bank Islam says this transition step will provide access to a wider range of features, including integrating Be U innovations into a more comprehensive service. This transfer process is expected to be carried out in phases in the coming months.
For existing Be U customers, you can enjoy uninterrupted access to your accounts and products, while at the same time customers are requested to use the BIMB Mobile app for daily banking needs.
