Chrome Now Supports Vertical Tabs and Immersive Reading Mode

Google Chrome was updated with two new features this morning. The first is support for displaying website tabs that are open vertically. This is done by right-clicking on any open tab and selecting “Show Tabs Vertically”.

With the vertical display, tab names can be seen more clearly because they are elongated and look more organized when there are many open. According to Google, this feature is provided for users who like to open many tabs for multitasking but complain that tabs are difficult to find when needed.

Reading mode also simplifies the display of websites by removing unnecessary graphic elements and ads. This is a feature that is already supported in other web browsers such as Edge. To use this feature, right-click on the page and select “Open in reading mode” or press the Reading Mode icon in the page address box.

Chrome updates for the two new features above are starting to be provided today.
