Nothing today officially introduced its latest series of smartphones, Nothing 4(a) and Nothing 4(a) Pro in Malaysia. Both smartphones are premium mid-range devices that come with a number of interesting features that have become a tradition for this brand.
Starting with Nothing 4(a) Pro, it comes with a 6.83″ AMOLED screen display with 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate that gives users a very smooth screen scrolling experience. With a brightness value of 5000 nits, it is also the brightest screen display Nothing has released so far, and is capable of displaying HDR content without any problems.
This device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor chip with 12GB LPDDR5X memory and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. The back of the device features a lens camera module consisting of a Sony LYT700c sensor for the main camera with built-in OIS, a 50MP 3.5x zoom camera with a periscope telephoto lens that can zoom up to 140x and a 32MP ultra-wide camera that also uses a Sony sensor.
The Nothing 3(a) device previously featured the Glyph Bar feature which houses a matrix display that can be used to display various types of notifications and interesting patterns. On the Nothing 4(a) Pro, the Glyph Matrix function has been shown which consists of 137 LED bulbs. This number is smaller than the previous Glyph Bar, but the size of the Glyph Matrix part is larger, and has a higher lighting value. The Glyph Toys function which displays various types of notifications is also still supported on this Glyph Matrix.
Meanwhile, the Nothing 4(a) Pro also comes with a 5080mAH battery and supports 50W Rapid Charging for fast charging.
Moving on to the Nothing 4(a), this device comes with a slightly smaller AMOLED screen display, with a size of 6.78 inches with the same 1.5K resolution with a brightness value of 4500 nits and a refresh rate of 120Hz.
It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor chip with the same memory and storage and battery offerings. Both devices also run the Nothing OS 4.1 operating system based on the latest Android 16, and Nothing has promised 3 years of operating system version updates and 6 years of security updates.
In terms of cameras, the Nothing Phone 4(a) is equipped with a 50MP main camera with built-in OIS system and a periscope telephoto lens with 3.5x zoom capability, a 50MP main camera also with built-in OIS, an ultra-wide camera using a Sony sensor and a 32MP ultra-wide selfie camera.
For the Nothing Phone 4(a), the Glyph Bar will return on the back of the device using 63 LED bulbs in 7 lighting zones with a brightness of 3500 nits. This gimmick is quite interesting because it can not only display various types of notifications, but can also be used to illuminate nearby areas for low-light photography. The back design of the Nothing 4(a) also still shows the internals of the device.
The Nothing 4(a) will come in black, white, blue and pink color options, while the Nothing 4(a) Pro will come in black, silver and pink color options. The selling price of the device is as follows.
Nothing Phone (4a) (12GB + 256GB) – RM1,999
