Are you tired of your phone getting hot during intense video game sessions? Want higher FPS even at the most demanding settings on the processor chip? The Redmi K90 Max was launched in China a while ago as a gaming device with a physical cooling fan built into the body.
It is Xiaomi's first phone with a built-in active cooling fan. In terms of specifications, it comes with a 6.83″ OLED 1.5K screen with a 165Hz refresh rate and Dolby Vision support. This is paired with the Dimensity 9500 chip, up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM, up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage and an 8,550mAh battery that supports 100W charging.
The main camera consists of a 50MP wide-angle lens and an 8MP ultra-wide lens while the selfie camera is 20MP. There is also an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, a stereo speaker system tuned by Bose and IP69 waterproofing despite having air holes for the fan.
Speaking of the fan, it is 18.1 mm wide, the largest ever used in a smartphone. The device's temperature can be reduced by up to 10°C in about 100 seconds. The fan can rotate in 3 modes but the volume is only around 32dB. Redmi is offering a 6-year warranty and free cleaning to early buyers of this gaming device.
The selling price is as below in Space Silver, Shadow Black and Sky Blue color options. The Redmi K series devices are not sold outside China but will be rebranded as Poco devices. So we just have to wait for Poco to offer this device to the Malaysian market in the near future.
