As previously reported, today Sony and TCL officially announced the formation of a new joint venture, named Bravia Inc. TCL will have a majority stake of 51%, and Sony 49% in this company.
This new company will continue the home entertainment business, including for the development and design of new products, production, sales, logistics and customer service for products such as Bravia televisions, Bravia B2B enterprise panels, B2B LED Displays, projectors and home audio systems.
As part of this collaboration, 100% equity in Sony EMCS (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd will be transferred to TCL. Sony EMCS (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is among those responsible for the production of Sony entertainment products.
The products produced by this company are expected to retain the use of the Sony and Bravia brands – thus maintaining the brand on products such as televisions and others.
