Xiaomi TV Stick HD 2nd Gen With More Powerful Specifications Launched

I often receive questions about what to do when the smart TV at home is slow. If the panel is still ok, I recommend just buying an Android TV box or dongle because it is a cheaper expense. Yesterday, the Xiaomi TV Stick HD 2nd Gen was launched with better hardware than the previous generation.

It uses a more rounded design like the Xiaomi TV Stick 4K version but it only supports 1080p 60FOPS resolution. The operating system used is Google TV while the processor comes with a quad-core Cortex‑A55 chip, Mali‑G31 MP2 GPU, 1GB of memory and only 8GB of storage.

The dongle is plugged directly into the TV's HDMI port with power using micro USB which is a bit disappointing. The Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and YouTube applications are already installed and it supports the AV1 codec which reduces data usage when streaming.

In addition, it supports the HDR10+ format for display as well as DTS:X and Dolby Audio for audio. The Wi‑Fi 5 internet network can be used together with Bluetooth 5.0. The remote has a standard button layout as well as shortcuts for Xiaomi TV+, Netflix, YouTube and Prime Video. Pricing has not yet been announced.
