Amazon has now announced a restructuring of Amazon Singapore’s operations and service offerings. Amazon Singapore has been offered since 2019, offering a selection of local products, in addition to offering groceries through Amazon Fresh. However, Amazon has now announced the termination of the offering.
Through this change, Amazon stated that it will close its processing and delivery center in Singapore, in addition to also ending its Amazon Fresh offering. Instead, the Amazon Singapore site will begin listing products from international sources, including Amazon US, Japan and Germany.
At the same time, Amazon stated that this change will impact a number of employees in Singapore, who will lose their jobs. Amazon stated that they are still committed to investing in Singapore, and have around 2500 employees in the country.
