Changes will be made to how emojis will be displayed on Android 17 which will be launched soon. Google announced that in the latest operating system which will be launched soon, emojis will be displayed in 3D. As the example below, emojis now have the same dimensions as those used on Apple devices for a long time.
3D Emoji Android 17
This is an effort from Google to standardize the display of emojis on Android and iOS. The changes made are not very noticeable but this set of Noto 3D emojis will allow information to be conveyed more clearly to the emoji recipient.
2D Emoji Android 16
Personally, I prefer the flat emoji design which is in line with the Material interface which is also flat. But Google is just following the trend with iOS taking Android elements and Android borrowing elements from iOS.
